Kannur: CPI(M) central committee member E P Jayarajan expressed uncertainty about fulfilling the responsibilities of the Left Front convener role. He also said that he is struggling to make use of his mental energy effectively and considering withdrawal from the public arena. He was responding to the accusations leveled against him during an interview with a private channel.
“Why I’ve to entertain these complaints? It is enough to live on the pension you get. All these allegations are baseless”, EP said. EP also said that he is not able to use his mental energy effectively due to these allegations. He mentioned that he is not prepared to initiate any new projects and is considering staying away from the public arena. “The challenge lies in gaining recognition from the people. If there is no connection with the society, then there is no objection. There are trends of breaking the standards in front of the public by making baseless allegations”, EP said.
Acknowledging that there may be discussions against him within the party, he asserted that he will not disclose what he knows. Emphasizing his loyalty to the party, he stated that his words are meant to benefit the party alone. He reassured that he has no intention of taking actions that could weaken the party, recognizing that it was the party that shaped him into the EP Jayarajan we see today.
