Thiruvananthapuram: BJP State President K. Surendran emphasized that the Prime Minister’s ‘guarantee’ differs from CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s and assured that stated commitments will be implemented. He countered the Kerala government’s claim that the center is neglecting its financial responsibilities towards the state. Meanwhile, he dismissed all assertions made by the ruling party in the Assembly against the Center as baseless arguments. His response to the media was prompted by the arguments presented by the ruling party during the debate on the motion of thanks in the Assembly.
“All the claims made by the government in the Assembly regarding schemes provided by the Center and the benefits derived from the tax share are outright lies. Since the Modi government came to power, states have been receiving a 42 percent tax share, whereas before that, it was only 32 percent. The Center is actively supporting Kerala across various sectors. However, the state government and the opposition are engaging in false propaganda, misleading the people of Kerala and planning protests in Delhi,” K. Surendran asserted.
He suggested that ministers and MLAs planning to protest in Delhi should use funds from the AKG Center for their journey. According to K. Surendran, the government is well aware that it has received the financial assistance it deserves from the Center. He emphasized that the CPI(M) is spreading misinformation among the people as they head to Delhi. K. Surendran concluded by highlighting that if the Prime Minister guarantees development in Kerala, it will be fulfilled, in contrast to the assurances made by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
