New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) apprehended Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister and national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi, in connection with the liquor policy case yesterday. Kejriwal had been summoned by the ED nine times prior to his arrest. According to his election affidavit, Arvind Kejriwal’s total assets were valued at Rs 2.1 crore in 2015. However, they have now surged to Rs 3.4 crore, marking an increase of Rs 1.3 crore since 2015.
Official records indicate that Arvind Kejriwal’s total assets amount to Rs 3.4 crores. According to his election affidavit, Kejriwal possesses Rs 12,000 in cash, while his wife holds Rs 9,000. The family maintains six bank accounts, with a cumulative investment of Rs. 33.29 lakh.
Additionally, Kejriwal’s wife owns gold valued at Rs 32 lakhs along with 1kg of silver. Mutual funds worth Rs 15.31 lakhs have been invested in her name. Although Kejriwal does not own a vehicle personally, a car worth Rs 6.20 lakh is registered under his wife’s name.
Furthermore, Kejriwal possesses a luxury residence in Gurugram, Haryana, purchased in his wife’s name in 2010 for Rs 60 lakhs, now estimated to be valued at Rs 1 crore. As per records from myneta.info, Kejriwal also holds non-agricultural land in Ghaziabad and Haryana, with a combined worth of Rs 1.77 crore as of 2020. An additional Rs 13 lakhs have been deposited into his wife’s Public Provident Fund (PPF) account.
