New Delhi: Delhi BJP President, Virendraa Sachdeva, stated that Arvind Kejriwal’s involvement in the liquor scam would soon come to light. Virendraa Sachdeva made these remarks while addressing the media following the court order directing Arvind Kejriwal to be held in Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody until March 28.
Virendraa Sachdeva emphasized that the law is taking its course, noting that Arvind Kejriwal had attempted to influence his position as Chief Minister of Delhi during court proceedings. Virendraa Sachdeva stressed that the law treats every criminal equally. He added that the truth regarding Arvind Kejriwal’s involvement in the liquor scam would be revealed soon.
Yesterday, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court had remanded Arvind Kejriwal to ED custody for seven days, until March 28, in connection with the liquor scam. Despite the ED’s request for 10-day custody, the court granted seven days and denied bail to Arvind Kejriwal after hours of hearing.
The ED informed the court that Arvind Kejriwal was the mastermind behind the liquor scam. ED stated that the investigation team arrested Arvind Kejriwal after gathering several pieces of evidence, including WhatsApp chats and call records, which point to Arvind Kejriwal’s involvement in the liquor scam case.
The ED charged Arvind Kejriwal for his involvement in formulating the Excise Policy 2021-22 to favor certain liquor companies in exchange for bribes worth crores of rupees. The ED also found that the bribe money was used for election campaigns, including in the Goa elections.
