New Delhi: BJP has formed the election manifesto committee ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. A 27-member committee will prepare the election manifesto.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will chair the panel, with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman serving as the convener and Union Minister for Consumer Affairs Piyush Goyal as the co-convener.

The committee comprises 27 members, including four state Chief Ministers. BJP National President JP Nadda announced the committee’s members, which include Union Ministers Smriti Irani, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Kiren Rijiju, and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Vasundhara Raje, Gujarat CM Bhupendrabhai Patel, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Anil Antony are also members of the committee.

In 2014, BJP’s election slogan was ‘abki baar Modi sarkar’, and ‘phir ek baar Modi sarkar’ in 2019. The BJP’s new campaign slogan for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections is ‘abki baar 400 paar’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims for a third consecutive term and has stated that the BJP will secure 370 seats out of the 543 contested in India’s Lok Sabha elections.

The 18th Lok Sabha elections for the country will be held in seven phases across 543 constituencies. In Bihar, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh, voting will take place in all seven phases.

The first phase of voting will be held on April 19 for 102 constituencies, including 39 seats in Tamil Nadu. The second phase of voting will be held on April 26 for 98 constituencies, including Kerala’s 20 seats. Subsequent phases will see polling in 94, 96, 49, 57, and 57 seats, respectively. The election results will be declared on June 4th.
