Agartala : The BJP won 95% of the seats in the elections and the Congress and the CPM collapsed. Elections were held on July 27 for 82 panchayats, 79 district panchayats and 833 gram panchayats. The three-tier Panchayat polls election results were announced on Thursday.

In the panchayat elections, the BJP won 74 seats and the Congress won only 6. At the same time, it is a shame for the CPM who could not win even a single seat.

The same was the case in the district panchayats. The BJP won 77 of the 79 seats and the Congress 2. The CPM did not get a single seat in the district panchayat elections as the same way it did not get in the panchayat elections.

In 833 gram panchayats, the BJP won 638 seats. The Congress won 158 seats and the CPM won 22. Nine seats were won by the Independents and six seats by RPFT.

The BJP has thanked people for making it win in 95% seats across gram panchayats, panchayat samitis and zila parishads.
