New Delhi: Amit Shah, today, declared in the Lok Sabha that both Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Aksai Chin are part of India. He said that when referring to Jammu and Kashmir, it includes both Pok and Aksai Chin.
He declared India’s stand while replying to Congress MP Adheer Ranjan Chowdhury’s clarification regarding it.
The Union Home Minister said, “I want to make it very clear once again that J&K is an integral and inseparable part of India. There is absolutely no doubt over it, and there is no legal dispute on this.”
Amit Shah also added, “When I say Jammu and Kashmir, it includes PoK. Both Indian and J&K constitutions also say that the state is an integral part of India and this gives us the right to form laws for the state, which includes PoK and Aksai Chin.”
Shah responded to the opposition charge that introduction of the bill was a violation of the rights of the people, said that no one can stop him from introducing a bill in Parliament. He also said that the government had fulfilled the long standing demand of giving Union Territory status to Ladakh.
The Union Minister’s strong declaration about PoK and Aksai Chin is a firm message to our neighbours that India is serious about its sovereignty. Both Pakistan and China have controlled the disputed territory which is an integral part of Jammu and Kashmir.
Yesterday, the government revoked the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir and have decided to reclaim all that is part of India.
