New Delhi: The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill, 2019, has been passed in the Lok Sabha with 351 votes in favour and 72 against it.
With the passage of the Bill, a historic wrong has been corrected by the Modi government. The special status given to the state under Article 370 is no more. Jammu & Kashmir is now divided into two Union Territories.
One is Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory with a Legislative Assembly and the other Union Territory is Ladakh with no Assembly. Ladakh will be administered directly by the Union government.
Now the Bill will be send to President Ram Nath Kovind for his final approval. The Modi government has won an historic victory in Parliament. The people of Kashmir can now become part of the development and progress of the country.
The Indian tricolor flag will now fly proudly over Jammu and Kashmir on 15 August.
