Jaipur: National media reports that a Hindu youth, Sandeep Gupta, was beaten up by a group of Muslim youths in Rajasthan for celebrating the revocation of Article 370 by the Central Government.

Sandeep Gupta’s father said that his son was beaten up by Muslims in anger for celebrating the government’s decision to scrap the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir and is severely hurt in the stomach area and head and is admitted in  a hospital.

A few Muslim youth stopped him on a road and began thrashing him for celebrating the abrogation of Article 370. The celebrations took place a day before and the Muslim youths noticed them.

After the first attack, Sandeep Gupta managed to escape but another group of Muslim youths caught hold of him and beat him up brutally. This led to the serious injuries on his stomach and head. He was left unconscious for two hours and is not able to speak.

The revocation of Article 370 by the Central government has been supported by many political parties and the Bill was passed in Parliament by an overwhelming majority. Even, Congress leaders had supported the move by the BJP.

Pakistan has reacted strongly against India’s move and has cut diplomatic and trade ties with India. They even send back India’s Ambassador to Pakistan and promised to take the issue to the United Nations Security Council.

Fundamental Muslims together with political parties like Congress, CPI(M), the Samajwadi Party, and Janata Dal (United) echoed the sentiments of Pakistan and have been strongly opposing the move to integrate Jammu and Kashmir with India.
