New Delhi: Congress leader and former Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram, has arrived at the AICC headquarters in New Delhi. Congress leaders Kapil Sibal, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and Ahmed Patel have already reached the AICC headquarters.
Chidambaram has conducted a press meet at the headquarters and said, “In INX Media case, I’ve not been accused of any offence nor any one else incl any member of my family. There is no charge sheet filed by either ED or CBI before a competent court.”
He added, “I believe that the foundation of a democracy is liberty, most precious article of the constitution is Article 21 that guarantees life and liberty. If I’m asked to choose between life and liberty, I will choose liberty.”
After the press meet, Chidambaram, left the AICC headquarters. His appearance comes after he was reported to be missing after the High Court declined anticipatory bails. The CBI and the ED have issued look out notice to the former Finance Minister.
He is wanted in a the INX Media case.
