Srinagar: The state flag was removed from Civil Secretariat building in Srinagar on Sunday. Both the state flag as well as the national flag were both placed on the top of the building.
Under Article 370, the Indian Constitution gave special rights to Jammu and Kashmir to hoist the state flag. After the abrogation of Article 370 and the passage of Jammu and Kashmir reorganisation bill, the state was bifurcated into two Union Territories.
As per the reports, the state flag of Jammu and Kashmir will soon be withdrawn from all the government buildings in the Union Territory and only the tricolour will be hoisted in the region.
