Biarritz: Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and United States President, Donald Trump, met today at the sidelines of the ongoing G7 Summit in Biarritz in France. Trump said they discussed the Kashmir issue and Pakistan in their meeting.

Trump had earlier said, “We spoke last night about Kashmir, Prime Minister really feels he has it under control. They speak with Pakistan and I am sure that they will be able to do something that will be very good. ”

Narendra Modi reiterated India’s position that Kashmir issue with Pakistan is ‘bilateral’ and said that India do not want to trouble other countries of the world over Kashmir.

Modi also said, “Pakistan and India have many issues. But Pakistan and India should fight poverty, lack of infrastructure and education.”

Though, India is not a member of G7 countries, France had invited India to attend the meeting. Narendra Modi earlier addressed a session on ‘Biodiversity, Oceans, & Climate’ during the G7 Summit.

After arriving in France for the Summit, Modi had met French President, Emmanuel Macron, Senegalese President Macky Sall.

On Sunday, Modi had the first meeting with the new UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, and discussed about defence, trade, and innovation. The British Prime Minister had earlier supported India’s decision to abrogate Article 370 and said that it is a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan.
