New Delhi: The Public Prosecutor pressed for murder charges against Congress leader, Shashi Tharoor in court today for the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar on the night of 17 January, 2014.
Public Prosecutor, Atul Shrivastava, pressed for murder charges against the Congress leader while referring to the autopsy report.
He also cited the domestic help of the couple and said that they used to engage in fight over year before her death.
Shiravstava argued, “In the mail, we found a statement of Sunanda Pushkar. She stated that she had no will to live anymore and prayed for her death.”
The Public Prosecutor also referred to the statement of Sunanda Pushkar’s friend and senior journalist, Nalini Singh. The journalist said that Sunanda had told her about Tharoor’s affair with a woman named Mehr Tarar and that they both had spend three nights in Dubai in June, 2013.
Nalini Singh also said that Sunanda Pushkar was upset about it and was crying when she called her. Pushkar also told that Tharoor and Mehr had exchanged intimate messages and mentioned that Tharoor was planning to divorce her after the election.
The court will hear the arguments on 17 October on the charges to be framed against Shashi Tharoor.
