Kolkata: Violence erupted again in West Bengal when Trinamool Congress workers tried to capture the office of BJP. When the BJP resisted the attempts of the TMC goons, they vandalized the BJP MP Arjun Singh’s car.
In the ensuing commotion the police lathi charged in which Arjun Singh got injured. He is the Member of Parliament from Barrackpore constituency.
The BJP has called for a 12 hour bandh at Barrackpore in protest against the TMC violence and police brutality against BJP workers.
Arjun Singh said, “They were trying to capture our party office. When I went to check, my car was vandalised. Police was also at the spot.”
He added that the police, who were on the spot, did not try to stop the culprits from destroying his car. However, when the BJP protested against the TMC violence, the police resorted to lathi charge against BJP activists.
Arjun Singh claimed that the Police Commissioner, Manjor Verma, attacked the BJP MP and insulted him. He also said that there is no law and order in West Bengal and that the police hesitate even to register a case against the TMC workers.
Violence in West Bengal continues unabated with TMC workers unleashing violence against their biggest rival, BJP and RSS. Many BJP workers have been killed under Mamata Banerjee’s Chief Ministership.
BJP leader Mukul Roy blamed West Bengal government for registering false cases against senior BJP leaders and unleashing violence against BJP workers.
