Reasi: Hundreds of youths put in an appearance to participate in the Army recruitment drive in the region on Tuesday.
An Army official said a total of 29,000 candidates have registered for the recruitment drive.
They raised slogans of ” Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and were seen competitive.
“This is an opportunity for the youth of the region to serve the country. The response is as we expected it to be,” said an Army officer.
One of the candidates said, ” We want to be in the Army to show to stone-pelters that we too want to do something. We, the people of Jammu and Kashmir are not less than anyone.”
This comes after the Government of India removed the special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
