Bengaluru: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman K Sivan on Saturday broke down in tears while Prime Minister Narendra Modi was about to leave from the Bengaluru-based space agency after an interaction with the scientists over Chandrayaan-2.
When Modi was moving towards his car, Sivan approached him to thank for his morale-boosting speech but Sivan could not hold back his tears and broke down eventually.
Modi without any hesitation hugged Sivan and consoled him by patting on his back. Ahead of this emotional moment, the Prime Minister personally met all the scientists and lauded their efforts and dedication.
This comes after ISRO announced that they had lost communication with Chandrayaan 2’s lander, Vikram, just a few minutes before its soft landing on the surface of the moon.
