New Delhi: Union Minister for Environment and Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar, said that the recent fall in GDP growth was only temporary as the fundamentals of India are good. He also said that the GDP will be on track very soon.
Prakash Javadekar was speaking to journalist on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government completing 100 days in power.
He said, “It is a little diversion. This is a temporary thing. It will come to track very soon.”
The minister added, “Our fundamentals are good and we will march as per our plan and achieve our target of becoming the USD 5 trillion economy. ”
Javadekar also said that the slowdown is a cyclical process and such a slowdown phase would not hurt the country’s progress rate. He was answering a question on how the economy will achieve a target of $5 billion with a low growth rate.
The Union Minister reminded that even during UPA government’s rule, there was a quarter when it fell to 5% when the growth rate was 7-8%. He added that even big economies like US face this.
He asserted that the ambitious goal of India entering the US $5 trillion economy.
