Bengaluru: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister, C. N. Ashwath Narayan, was heckled by Congress goons, today, in retaliation for the arrest of senior Congress leader, D. K. Shivakumar, on charges of money laundering.
The untoward incident occurred when the Deputy Chief Minister went to Tumkur to attend an event organized by the Vokkaliga community. Interestingly, Deputy Chief Minister Narayan, former Chief Minister, Kumaraswamy and senior Congress leader, D. K. Shivakumar all belong to the Vokkaliga community.
Ashwath Narayan was surrounded by Congress workers raising slogans and then heckled him for the arrest of Shivakumar. They are accusing Chief Minister, B. S. Yediyurappa, of political vendetta against Shivakumar.
Congress is visibly upset about the arrest of Shivakumar by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) since he was the main trouble shooter for the party. His political and money clout made it possible to patch alliances and keep it running in favour of Congress. However, his skills could not prevent the fall of the Congress- JD(S) alliance, which led to the ascend of the BJP government headed by Yediyurappa.
