New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, which falls on 17 September will be celebrated with ‘Service week’ by the BJP.
Today the BJP National President and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, together with BJP Working President, J. P. Nadda and MP Vijay Goel, began the service drive with a visit to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). They interacted with child patients and hospital staff.
They visited the children and gifted them a bag of fruits and also mopped the floor and interacted with the sanitation workers of the hospital.
Amit Shah told the media that BJP has been celebrating Narendra Modi’s birthday in this way for the past five years.
The Home Minister said, “From today, crores of workers of the BJP are starting sewa saptah. They are going to slums, hospitals, sanitation programmes, tree plantation drives and other such events to volunteer. Wherever the people have elected BJP, in gram panchayats, municpalities and government, they are also involved in sewa saptah, with the whole machinery of the government.”
