New Delhi: A prime ‘commander’ of the Hizbul Mujahideen, wanted in a case of the murders of a senior BJP leader and an RSS functionary has been killed along with two other terrorists in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
The three terrorists armed with AK assault rifles, under-barrel grenade launchers and grenades were identified as Osama, Farooq and Zahid of Doda region.
According to PTI report, Osama was accused in the killings of senior BJP leader Anil Parihar and his brother Ajit Parihar on November 1, 2018, and RSS functionary Chanderkant Sharma and his personal security officer on April 9.
The security forces shot them down while trying to escape from a house where they had barged in while being chased. “All the three terrorists were killed in the gunfight, while an army soldier also achieved martyrdom,” Jammu-based Army PRO Lt Col Devender Anand told PTI.
Osama was also accused of three weapon snatching incidents in Kishtwar town and carried a reward of several lakhs of rupees.
