New Delhi: The BJP has released its first list of candidates for the forthcoming Haryana Assembly election. The first list consists of 78 names and includes nine women and two Muslim candidates.
Interestingly, the BJP have given tickets to wrestlers Yogeshwar Dutt and Babita Phogat and former Indian hockey captain Sandeep Singh.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will be contesting from Karnal while State BJP President, Subhash Barala will fight from the Tohana seat. The party has denied seats to two ministers Vipul Goel and Rao Narbir Singh and five MLAs. However, thirty eight sitting MLAs have been given ticket once again.
All the names have been approved by BJP’s Central Election Committee on Sunday. The election to the 90 seat Legislative Assembly will held on 21 October and the result would be announced on 24 October, 2019.
