Mumbai: The grandson of Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray, Aditya, is all set to contest the Maharashtra assembly election. Aditya Thackeray, who will be the first from the Thackeray family to contest an election, is a leading youth leader in the state. He will contest from the Worli constituency.
Today, the 29 year old Aditya Thackeray said, “Shiv Sena has worked extensively across Maharashtra. While working, I used to think to myself, how can I serve Maharashtra further? Therefore, with permission from all of you, I would like to contest these elections,”
He added, “This is the time to create a debt-free, unemployment-free, pollution-free Maharashtra. Even if I am contesting from Worli, I am here to serve the entire Maharashtra. You (Sainiks) should work for every Shiv Sena candidate. A vote for them is a vote for me.”
The young Thackeray has been active in the Mumbai politics and has attracted the new generation of Marathi youths to Shiv Sena. His stand on Mumbai night life, animal rights, and the environment has projected him as the new young face of the party.
Shiv Sena is the junior partner of the BJP in Maharashtra and both the allies are gearing up for the assembly elections to face the Congress and NCP.
