Patna: The flood-ravaged state of Bihar is trying to come back to normalcy. With infrastructure and government machinery broken down and strained, the helping hands of RSS have come forward to help the ailing population of the state.
Six organizations affiliated to RSS – Seva Bharathi, ABVP, VHP, Bajrang Dal, Vanavasi Kalyan, Ganga Samgarh have – is coordinating 11,000 RSS volunteers at the moment to provide relief works in different parts of Bihar. Senior leaders are leading the relief efforts to give the best service to those who have lost everything.
RSS volunteers have distributed food and medicines to those who are in distress. The volunteers were able to reach remote villages, where even the government machinery could not reach. They have been lifesavers to about 66,000 people who lost everything in life.
The volunteers took rented boats to reach places where people were stranded and brought them back to a new life. They were supported by BJP activists too.
Unfortunately, the administration tried to make roadblocks for RSS relief works. They even tried to confiscate the boats used by RSS workers for relief works. Police even tried to stop RSS volunteers from using banners bearing the name of RSS on these rescue boats.
Those who are now residing in relief camps are saying that RSS is doing relief works that no other organizations can do. Bihar is undergoing one of the most devastating floods with 35 lakh people reeling under the consequences of the natural calamity.
