Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has decided to release three detained politicians today subjected to a bond that states the signatory would maintain peace and good behaviour.
The three politicians are Yawar Mir, Noor Mohammad and Shoaib Lone. They were under detention since 5 August when the Central Government scrapped Article 370.
Yawar Mir is former PDP MLA from Rafiabad assembly seat while Shoaib Lone was the Congress candidate from North Kashmir and has close ties with People’s Conference chief Sajjad Lone. Noor Mohammad is a National Conference leader at Batmaloo in Srinagar.
Mohammad will be released only after he signs a bond to maintain peace and good behaviour.
On 21 September the administration had released Imran Ansari of the People’s Conference and Syed Akhoon on health grounds.
The government had detained leaders to maintain peace and harmony when the crucial decision to scrap Article 370 was implemented. Barring some untoward incidents the valley has been quite peaceful and the transition into full statehood is going smoothly.
