Mamallapuram: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had been striving for a Swachh Bharat, has today, once again set an example to the nation that every single individual has to put in their best effort in keeping clean surroundings.
Modi who was taking a morning stroll along the shores of Mamallapuram plogged for over 30 minutes collecting strewn plastic and garbage.
He later tweeted, “Plogging at a beach in Mamallapuram this morning. It lasted for over 30 minutes. Also handed over my ‘collection’ to Jeyaraj, who is a part of the hotel staff. Let us ensure our public places are clean and tidy! Let us also ensure we remain fit and healthy.”

Plogging is a Swedish concept that emerged out of environmental concerns over plastic pollution where people jog on streets while picking up litter, hence promoting cleanliness.
