Mumbai: Union Minister Smriti Irani on Monday attacked the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party alliance while talking about farmers of the state.
Irani said that the protesting farmers were fired upon by the police near Pune during their regime.
“I remember farmers were fired at and killed near Pune by the Congress-led (Maharashtra) government. Now they are questioning Fadnavis government which has given loan waivers,” said Irani.
She praised the Fadnavis government for regular power supply and good educational institutions which are important factors in employment generation.
She asserted that the opposition parties were objecting BJP by highlighting the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, in an attempt to brainwash the people. But the people of Maharashtra were patriotic and would understand and support the move.
