Jammu & Kashmir: Narendra Modi celebrated the festival of lights at the border district of Rajouri district with army personnel. His visit raised the morale of the troops who were excited when the Prime Minister of India made a surprise visit to them.
This is Modi’s first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. The Prime Minister interacted with the soldiers at BG Headquarters.
The soldiers said that they were happy and proud after meeting with the Prime Minister. They also said that his visit was a great morale boost for the soldiers standing guard at the border to protect our nation.
Narendra Modi’s visit also coincided with the Infantry Day which commemorates when Indian security forces chased away Pakistani army in 1947.
Since becoming Prime Minister of the country in 2014, Narendra Modi, has always celebrated Diwali with soldiers guarding the border in the most difficult terrain. In 2014 he celebrated at Siachen. In 2015 he celebrated with army men at the Punjab border. In 2016, Modi spent Diwali with the Indo Tibetan Border Police.
