New Delhi: The Capital city is on tenterhooks after RDX explosives was found in a black trolley bag at the Indira Gandhi International Airport today at 1 am.
The suspicious bag was first found out by CISF Constable V. K. Singh at the Arrival area of Terminal 3. The constable immediately alerted the officials and the screening process found that the bag contained RDX explosives.
Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) was called and the area has been cordoned off and the movements of passengers and vehicles stopped.
The bag was shifted to the cooling pit at the isolation area and complete sweeping of the arrival area was conducted by the CISF. Passengers and vehicle movement have been resumed by 3.30 am.
The exact nature of the explosives has not been ascertained and it has been put for observation for 24 hours. Security at Delhi airport has been beefed up following the incident.
