New Delhi: Hoardings that featured Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was surfaced in Amritsar praising them as ‘heroes’ who played a crucial role in the opening of Kartarpur Corridor.
The text on the posters is in Punjabi and translates as, “Navjot Singh Sidhu and Imran Khan are the real heroes for opening Kartarpur Corridor.”
However, the hoardings were removed immediately within hours of their appearance.
Sidhu had received a formal invitation from the Pakistan PM to join the inaugural ceremony of the Kartarpur Corridor after which a hoarding, praising the both was installed.
A seven-member Congress delegation, constituted by Sonia Gandhi and led by former prime minister Manmohan Singh is due to visit Kartarpur Sahib on November 9, whereby Sidhu has not been included in the delegation.
