UP government prepares for Ayodhya verdict: Yogi asks officials to take immediate action against inflammatory social posts

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is gearing up for the Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya dispute, which is expected to come next week. Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, has directed officials to be tough against those who are trying to disrupt peace in the state.

The Chief Minister, in a video conference, held yesterday, directed all the District Magistrates and senior officials to crack down on those who are trying to create mischief in the name of Ayodhya verdict. He asked them to be stay alert and pro-active and to take quick actions against inflammatory social media posts.

Yogi Adityanath said, “Take immediate actions against inflammatory social media posts. Keep an open dialogue with the public, political and religious leaders on the Ayodhya verdict.”

He told the officers to operate the control room for the purpose around the clock and to increase foot patrolling and hold peace committee meetings. The Chief Minister urged the officials to spread the awareness about ‘dial 112’ among the people so that they can call for help if there is any untoward incidents.

The Home Secretary of Uttar Pradesh along with the DGP and several other senior officials attended the meeting.

The Central government has already provided 4000 extra personnel of paramilitary force to the state. Both the Central and State governments are taking every measure to keep the peace of the country in view of the verdict.

The whole country is waiting for the Supreme Court verdict on the Ayodhya land dispute case involving the ownership of 2.77 acres of land. The verdict is expected to come before 17 November.
