Hindu-Muslim religious leaders extend support to Modi govt; affirms NSA office

New Delhi: National Security Adviser(NSA) Ajit Doval held talks with Hindu and Muslim leaders in Ayodhya following the Supreme Court verdict in the Ayodhya case. The meeting was aimed at maintaining the cooperation and fraternity that existed between the two sides.

Ajit Doval was responsible for mediation in the Ayodhya case. Since taking over as national security adviser, Doval has been in constant contact with various religious leaders for the sake of national security. The meeting convened at Ajit Doval’s residence and was attended by 18 Hindu Acharyas and 12 Muslim religious leaders.

“This is not a victory for Hindus or Muslims, it is a victory for India and Indians. The verdict is in favour of everyone,” said Maulana Asghar Ali Salafi, President of Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadees Hind.

Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawad said, ” I am really proud of my nation that such a big issue has been resolves so smoothly. Both Hindus and Muslims have acted very patiently. It is highly commendable.”

Mohd Salim Engineer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind hailed Ayodhya verdict and said,” This verdict is not anuyone’s victory or loss. Strengthening values of justice, peace, equality, freedom and taking the country forward with them will be a victory for India.”

Hindu religious leaders like Baba Ramdev, Swami Parmatmanand, Swami Chidanand Saraswati were present at the residence of Ajit Doval for the meeting along with Muslim religious leaders.

The leaders of both the community have assured cooperation with the Modi government to maintain peace. According to the National Security Agency office, the religious leaders said they would cooperate with the security measures taken by the central government and prioritize the national security.
