New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind assigns Union Minister Prakash Javadekar with the heavy industries and public enterprises portfolio after Arvind Sawant, the minister in-charge stepped down on Monday.
Sawant, a Shiv Sena leader, said that the BJP had acknowledged to an “equal division of seats and power” in Maharashtra but later “rejected” this.
BJP has confirmed that it would not be forming government in Maharashtra due to its troubled relations with its ally Shiv Sena that turned bitter after Assembly polls. BJP denied the demand of Shiv Sena who had asked for the chief ministerial post, even after BJP had turned out to be the single largest party in Maharashtra.
