New Delhi: The BJP has expelled the MP from Bhopal, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, from the consultative committee on defence for referring Nathuram Godse as deshbhakt. BJP Working President, J. P. Nadda, announced her removal from the panel.

J. P. Nadda said, “We have decided that Pragya Singh Thakur will be removed from the consultative committee of defence, and in this session, she will not be allowed to participate in the parliamentary party meetings.”

The Congress MPs made a walkout over her statement on Godse.

Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur had earlier also made statements in support of Godse for which she was severely reprimanded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A few days before Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur was made a member of the 21-member panel by the party. The panel, which has seasoned and veteran leaders like Sharad Pawar and Farooq Abdullah is headed by the Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh.
