Hyderabad: The Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekar Rao, today, ordered the setting up of fast-track court to deal with the gruesome case and to give strongest punishment to them.
The Chief Minister condemned the rape and murder of the veterinary doctor, which shocked the nation. The Chief Minister’s office in a statement said, “CM has instructed officials that the accused in the woman veterinary doctor’s ghastly murder should be inquired on a fast track, & culprits should be given stringent punishment. CM also decided to set up a fast track court to deal with the case.”
The police has already arrested four persons for the crime. Both were lorry drivers and the other two were cleaners. The tyres of the doctor’s scooter was punctured by the group after she parked it nearby and went to work.
When the doctor returned, one of the accused approached her on the pretext of helping. The four then gang-raped the doctor and burned her body. Her charred remains was found the next morning by people who passed by.
The incident caused widespread protests across the nation. Mother of one of the accused disavowed her son and said that he too must be killed the same way if he is guilty.
