New Delhi: India is about to jointly inaugurate key development projects with Maldives today and will also gift a fast interceptor vessel to the island nation in a bid to strengthen deeper maritime security between the two countries.
The development projects will be inaugurated in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maldivian President Ibrahim Solih.
“Furthering India-Maldives friendship! t 4 PM this evening, Shri @narendramodi and President @ibusolih will jointly inaugurate key development projects covering a wide range of sectors,” tweeted Prime Ministers Office.

The PMO also tweeted, “One of the projects includes the lighting up of Male using LED lights.The other is the launch of RuPay card in Maldives. Three fish processing plants will also be inaugurated. A Fast Interceptor Craft will be gifted to the Maldives.”
