Mumbai: Shiv Sena who finally formed government in Maharashtra has received a big jolt after 400 workers of the party joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at an event in Dharavi, Mumbai on Wednesday.

The reason being that Shiv Sena workers are upset over party’s Chief Uddhav Thackeray of stitching alliance with Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) to form government in Maharashtra.

“I had been working with Shiv Sena for the past 10 years. We were supporting the Hindutva ideology of Sena. I was also given an office to serve people but as Sena has decided to form the government with NCP and Congress, it is not acceptable to us. Now that we have all decided to join BJP,” said Ramesh Nadar, Sena leader.

BJP and Shiv Sena had jointly won an absolute majority in the assembly polls, after which Sena demanded for the Chief Minister’s post although there was no such agreement made prior to the election.

Later, Shiv Sena joined hands with the NCP and the Congress to form a non-BJP government.
