Hyderabad: All four people accused in the rape and murder of the woman veterinary doctor have been killed in the police encounter.
The police said the four accused were shot dead in an encounter when they tried to snatch guns from the personnel, on the NH-44 near Hyderabad, the same highway where the charred body of the 26-year-old was found.
As per reports, the accused people were taken to the spot were the body was found for recreation of the crime scene.
The tyres of the doctor’s scooter was punctured by the group after she parked it nearby and went to work. When the doctor returned, one of the accused approached her on the pretext of helping. The four then gang-raped the doctor and burned her body in Shamshabad area on November 27. Her charred remains was found the next morning by people who passed by.
The four accused were kept in the judicial custody at Cherlapally Central Jail in Hyderabad.
