Jamshedpur: The second phase of assembly elections in Jharkhand began today morning at 7 am and the people have queued up outside polling stations.
The voting is being conducted at 20 constituencies including Jamshedpur East and Jamshedpur West.
Chief Minister Raghubar Das is contesting election from Jamshedpur (East) seat. Also state assembly speaker Dinesh Oraon and BJP state unit chief Laxman Guila are contesting in this phase of elections.
Over 48 lakh voters is expected to exercise their democratic franchise.
The Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) including the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and BSF jawans have been deployed in the maoist affected assembly constituencies.
The first phase of polling ended on November 30 and the third phase will be conducted on December 12 while the results will be known on December 23.
