New Delhi: BJP MP Manoj Tiwari has confirmed financial assistance to those who lost lives in the massive fire incident. He announced the decision after visiting the incident site where Rs 5 lakh will be given to families of the deceased and Rs 25,000 for the injured.
“It is a sad incident. As per initial information, the fire broke out due to short circuit. BJP will provide financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to families of those who have lost their lives and Rs 25,000 to those who were injured,” Tiwari told reporters.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also approved ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund and Rs 50,000 each for those seriously injured in the fire.
A massive fire broke out at a paper factory operating from a residential area at Anaj Mandi in Delhi’s Rani Jhansi road early on Sunday. Forty-three people died and 50 were rescued.
The fire has been completely doused by the fire brigade team and rescue operations are currently underway.
