New Delhi: After Rahul Gandhi’s insensitive ‘Rape in India’ remark, the Congress leader insulted Veer Savarkar. Gandhi insulted the Hindutva icon after BJP leaders asked him to apologize for degrading the nation.

However, BJP leader, Sambit Patra gave the Gandhi scion a befitting reply. He said, “Rahul Gandhi can never become Savarkar. Savarkar was veer (brave) and patriot. Rahul Gandhi speaks the language of Pakistan on Article 370, Balakot airstrike, surgical strikes and CAB. He can never emulate Veer Savarkar. If Rahul Gandhi wants new name then from today BJP will call him ‘Rahul thoda sharm kar (Rahul, have some shame). A man who compares Make in India with Rape in India has crossed all limits.”

Both the houses in Parliament was in uproar, yesterday, after BJP leaders demanded apology from Rahul Gandhi for his statements.

Union Minister, Smriti Irani, has approached the Election Commission of India to seek strong action against Rahul Gandhi for politicizing crimes against women. The Congress leader in a election campaign rally in Jharkhand said that Prime Minister launched ‘Make in India’ but nowadays it is ‘Rape in India’.

Meanwhile, BJP’s IT cell leader, Amit Malviya, took a potshot at Congress and Shiv Sena by saying that he was waiting to see how the Sena will defend Rahul Gandhi for insulting Veer Savarkar.

In a twitter post, Malviya said, “Looking forward to seeing Shiv Sena defend Rahul Gandhi for his statement implying that ‘Veer Savarkar was a coward who apologized’!”

Interestingly, Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray had during Maharashtra Assembly election said that those who cannot speak well about Savarkar do not deserve to rule the country.
