Mumbai: The Shiv Sena has not taken lightly the insensitive remark by Rahul Gandhi against Veer Savarkar, when he was asked to apologize for insulting India. Shiv Sena leader, Sanjay Raut, warned the Gandhi scion not to insult Savarkar in any way.
Sanjay Raut said, “We respect both Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Nehru. Please do not insult ‘Veer’ Savarkar. Intelligent people need not be told anything more.”
The Shiv Sena’s statement comes as a warning to the Congress, which is in an alliance with the Sena and NCP in Maharashtra.
Rahul Gandhi made this controversial remarks at the ‘Bharat Bachao’ rally in New Delhi today. Congress President, Sonia Gandhi, and leaders like Manmohan Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia were present at the rally when Rahul Gandhi spoke.
