New Delhi: The Vice Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), M. Jagadesh Kumar, today, alleged that he narrowly escaped an attempt to attack him by a group of 15 to 20 students. He also said that he escaped unharmed after he was saved by security staff.
The Vice Chancellor said, “I was attacked today. I had gone to visit School of Arts & Aesthetics, JNU where around 10-15 students surrounded me. They were trying to pull me down and in a mood to attack me. Fortunately, I was rescued by security and managed to escape.”
The students then attacked his car and broke the windshield of the car. The attack comes a day after the High Court of Delhi sought the academic details of the students against whom the university have filed a contempt petition for protesting within 100 meters of the administrative block.
