New Delhi: On the occasion of the death anniversary of India’s first deputy Prime Minister Sardar Patel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tributes to the Iron Man.

Today, we pay tribute to Sardar Patel on his death anniversary,” Amit Shah tweeted.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel As the first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of India, Patel organised relief efforts for refugees fleeing to Punjab and Delhi from Pakistan and worked to restore peace.
The Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue, was dedicated to him on 31 October 2018 which is approximately 182 metres (597 ft) in height.
