New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday with three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of India SA Bobde declined to stay the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and said “we will have to see whether the Act has to be stayed”.
However, the top court has issued a notice to the centre asking to respond over 60 pleas challenging the constitutional validity of the new law.
The next date of hearing is scheduled on January 22, 2020.
