New Delhi: The Delhi police have arrested around 21 persons from Delhi’s north east area for instigating violence in the protests against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
The police informed that 12 were arrested form Seelampur, 5 from Jarabad and 4 from Dayal Pur. The security forces have also taken 39 persons under preventive arrest in the morning.
Section 144 was imposed in the north east area and the Red Fort area to maintain law and order.
Protesters have taken to violence in many parts of Delhi prompting the police for stricter actions. The police have arrested many with criminal backgrounds who were trying to instigate violence in the name of protest.
A Special Branch report of the police said that most of those who instigated violence were illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.
