Mangalore: The Karnataka Home Minister, Basavaraj Bommai, has said that Keralites were behind the violence that erupted during protests against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Mangalore.

The Home Minister said that a group that came from Kerala began the attack. The same Keralite group were behind an attempt to set a police station on fire. He added that those who are behind this will be dealt with severely.

There was intelligence report that the police station will be attacked and so high security was in place.

Widespread violence is reported from many parts of India during protests against CAA. Ordinary citizens are also facing the brunt of these violent protests. In Lucknow, protesters pelted stones against policemen and set ablaze around 20 vehicles. Protesters also tried to attack a police station.

During the Jamia Millia protests, two Malayali students had shot into prominence. They were Ayesha Renna and Ladeeda Sakhaloon. Though the left liberals and the media projected them as the icons of the protests, it soon came to light that these women were hardcore Islamists. Their Facebook status had posts in which they supported terrorists like Yakub Memon and fundamentalists who murdered Hindus during the Malabar riots.
