New Delhi: In a hard hitting speech delivered to an enormous crowd at Ramlila Maidan, the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has exposed the lies that were being spread by Congress and opposition over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and dividing the people. He also challenged his critics to come out with one policy that had discriminated between people.
He said, “You all have seen how they (opposition) are speaking lies and giving inflammatory speeches along with fake videos being made on the issue. The people sitting at the top have committed a sin by putting these on social media.”
Narendra Modi was speaking at the mega rally called ‘Dhanyavad’ or thanksgiving at Ramlila Maidan. The rally was held to give thanks to Modi for giving ownership rights to more than 4 million residents of unauthorized colonies in Delhi. The event has officially jumped start the election campaign of the party.
He asked if he had discriminated anyone while giving ownership to the houses which was built under PM UDAY Yojana.
The Prime Minister said, “This Ramlila Maidan has witnessed many historical events and today people have come here in huge numbers from various parts of Delhi. I am satisfied that 40 lakh people of Delhi will see a new dawn through PM UDAY Yojana, you all got rights over your property, your houses. I congratulate you for that.”
Modi asked, “…I want to ask these people who spread paranoia and fear that when we regularised unauthorised colonies in Delhi. Did we ask for their religion, caste and nationality? No. This decision benefited people from every religion. We did this because we live for love for the country. We believe in sabka sath, sabka vishwas, sabka vikaas.”
Narendra Modi also spoke about a conspiracy to shame India internationally.
He spoke, “Why is this conspiracy to shame India internationally going on? And I want to say if you don’t like it, then abuse Modi and hate Modi…but don’t burn people’s property…”
Speaking against those who spread lies in the name of CAA he said, “I want to ask the liars — that when we legalised the unauthorised colonies, did we ask them their religion or which party you support? Did we ask you for evidence of 1975 or 1980? Did we ask for any proof? The Centre’s help was received by the Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, everybody. Does the smell of discrimination come anywhere? Then lay it out open before the nation.”
