Kolkata: After several petitions were filed against the Bengal government for airing the ads against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and the NRC, the Calcutta High Court admonished the government and asked to remove all the ads.
The order was given by a division bench of Chief Justice TBN Radhakrishnan and Justice Radhakrishnan.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had said that her government won’t implement the new law and NRC in the state. And had instigated protests against the new law which eventually lead to violence and vandalising of public property.
The court will hear the matter next on January 9.
