New Delhi: Last night’s attack at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) was the top news trending in every news outlet in the country. The left leaning media was quick to put the blame on the RSS student organization, ABVP, as if all the troubles ailing the university stems from these nationalists student organization.

However, the reality of the situation at the university is more serious than what the mainstream media is peddling. Reports say that common students were prevented by leftist organizations from registering for their exams. The ABVP which stood for the rights of students to write their exams came under attack by leftist goons.

The issue began when the left student organizations forced a lock-down at the university and did not allow students to appear for end semester exams. Those who tried to take the exam were assaulted including the professors who tried to conduct it.

Moreover, the leftists occupied the server at JNU so as to prevent online registration. Yesterday, the students who wanted to make online exam registration were prevented from registering and also assaulted by these left leaning student activists.

On 3 January the Wi-Fi services at JNU was stopped by left goons entering the server room. They did this to prevent online registration of exam. The next morning the administration tried to reactivate the Wi-Fi which led to a scuffle between left wingers and security staff.

This led to left wingers attacking common students and ABVP members indiscriminately. The attackers were targeting those students who registered themselves. The boycott of exams by leftist organization was becoming a burden for common students who wanted to take the exam. They were prevented from writing their exams which is the right of every student.

The left wing goons entered Periyar hostel to attack ABVP members but were chased away. They then entered Sabarmati hostel and started pelting stones. Students of the hostel came out with hockey bats etc. to chase the goons away. The videos and images of these students are being circulated by the left as ‘ABVP members’.
