Jammu and Kashmir: While fifteen foreign envoys were visiting Jammu and Kashmir to assess the ground situation in the state, two Kashmiri Pandits were seen showing placards that said ‘Free Kashmir from Islamic Terrorism’. The envoys, who were invited by the Indian government, represented countries like US, South Korea, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Maldives, Morocco, Fiji, Norway, Philippines, Argentina, Peru, Niger, Nigeria, Togo, and Guyana.
The placards said about the Islamic terrorism and how it has spread turmoil in the valley. The envoys were shown the placards when they were on their way to Jagti Migrant Township in Jammu.
The delegation then met Kashmiri Pandits at the Jagti Migrant Township and later met civil society representatives and community leaders.
The 15 envoys had also met political leaders and Army officials yesterday in Srinagar. They are on a visit to see the efforts of the Indian government to restore normalcy in the valley after article 370 was abrogated.
The Kashmiri Pandits were driven out of their homeland by Islamic terrorists in the early 1990s and were forced to live in exile. They clearly experience the worst of Islamic terrorism and this has led the two Kashmiri Pandits to raise placards drawing attention to these terrorists.
Interestingly, a few days back a girl in Mumbai raised a placard which read ‘Free Kashmir’ during protests to oppose violence in JNU. These left liberal protests conveniently erase the plight of Kashmiri Pandits and do not acknowledge their tragedy under Islamic fundamentalism.
These two Kashmiri Pandits have succeeded in bringing the situation of Pandits before the envoys and before the Indian public.
